Official Launch of Community Health Initiative to Combat HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis B

On October 29th, we proudly launched the official opening of our health program, a vital step in our mission to tackle the spread of HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis B, and related diseases in Nuba Mountain.
The event brought together representatives from the Secretariat of Health, Nuba Mountain; Mother of Mercy Hospital; the GED and SGR organizations; and officials from the Office of the Governor, alongside members of the Secretariat of Media, Youth, and Culture. This collective participation reflects the seriousness with which we view this health crisis and the shared commitment to protecting the health and future of our community.

During the launch, participants underscored the urgent need to address the growing health issues within the community and the influx of displaced individuals into the region. By openly discussing these health challenges, the launch event helped raise awareness of the impact of HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis B, which have been increasingly affecting both locals and newcomers.
The representatives from each department expressed their dedication to promoting health awareness, implementing preventive measures, and supporting comprehensive care to prevent further spread. The launch marks the beginning of a unified effort to provide education, testing, and counseling services, which will equip individuals with critical knowledge and access to resources to safeguard their health.

Our organization is committed to working closely with these partners to expand the reach and effectiveness of this program, ensuring that it truly serves the people of Nuba Mountain. We are grateful for the ongoing support and collaboration from our community leaders and partners, as we work together toward a healthier and more informed future for all.
